Rick Dore has been building custom cars since 1987 and is a four time hall of fame member. His is known as one of the top custom car builders in the world and is famous for his incredible eye for design and unique colors. Dore's resume is an impressive collection of automotive industry accolades, including Harley Bradley Design Achievement, World's Most Beautiful Custom, Goodguy's Custom d'Elegance and Harry Westergard awards. Dore has also captured numerous design, style and paint awards at the venerable Oakland Rod & Custom Show- including 7 individual honors at the 2003 gathering. A member of both Daryl Starbird Museum and Grand National Roadster Show Hall of Fame, Dore has been named "Builder of the Year" on several occasions by v various hot rod and custom car organizations. Rick Dore Kustom car creations have adorned the covers of the Rodder's Journal, Hot Rod, Street Rodder and Custom Rodder magazine. And his works have been broadcast on High-profile television outlets Speedvision and The Hot Rod Show. Additionally he and his cars have been invited numerous times to European cars shows .
The custom chassis along with the wiring and drive train was completed two years ago. It was driven for a year to fine tune the mechanics and to enjoy it. Hall of Famer Art Himsl painted the car on Nov. 1 2007. This car can be driven anywhere o0r compete in any shows. Sherm's Plating did all the plating, including chroming and the stainless steel frames that surround the glass. The car also features radial white walls. Billet wheels, and custom PPG Paint (a one of a kind color you probably will not see anywhere else). The car has been shot for several European magazines that are scheduled to come out this summer
The following is a list of some of the modifications this car has:
* 350/350 Automatic
* Power Steering & breaks
* Tilt column complete Air ride System
* Complete Air Ride System
* Engine compartment has been smoothed and boxed with plenty of chrome and a high flow radiator
* The body has been set on a 1980 GM Chassis. Everything was rebuilt: brakes, front end, etc. The body was chopped with a 1950 Mercury rear window, hood corners rounded. Everything shaved, nosed , decked, quarters smoothed, flush mounted and reshaped side skirts, hood scoops, front and rear pan fabricated, 1950 Ford bumper with a 1953 Cadillac bumperette at the front and a 1953 Cadillac bumper at the rear, frenched 1956 Olds headlights and custom taillights made from acrylic.
* The interior is a radical as the exterior with completely hand fabricated console, package tray, door and quarter panels. All was painted with mother of pearl white and then the seats were covered with imported Italian pearl with a gold tone
* The paint job was completed using PPG products. Its color is purple with violet pears over murano gold, with ghost tribal like flames on the side only.
