Chevelle SS. This is a real '72 Chevelle SS.
(U in VIN, only '72 did this).
Not a clone, tribute, rebody, etc. etc.
It's a SS 402 (LS3) car with Turbo 400 and 12-bolt posi. Mulsane blue, white stripes, black bucket seat/console interior.
This Chevelle finishing a 6 year long, nut and bolt detail rotisserie restoration. I stuck with a stock / orginal restoration for the most part.
Everything has been either replaced or rebuilt.
The engine has been put back close to stock specs. The transmission was rebuilt through a reputable local shop with a new stall convertor.
All new suspension parts including tie rods, tie rod adjuster sleeves, idler arm, center link, all ball joints, all control arm bushings, rubber bumpers, sway bar mounting, etc.
All new fuel and brake lines with new clips and bolts, new brake hoses, new front calipers, new front dust sheilds, new rear wheel cylinders, new proportioning valve, new master cylinder and power booster. In short the entire brake system and fuel system is new.
New fuel tank and straps as well as a new sending unit.
New reproduction exhaust system with resonators and tips from NPD.
New forward light harness and new engine harness from M&H. All new switches, new voltage regulator and alternator, new starter.
Interior is redone using reproduction seat covers, door panels, kick panels, carpet, sound deadener, headliner, complete console, package tray window cranks, rear ash trays, bucket seat components, etc., etc.
Body was on rotisserie and undercoating was completely stripped and floor pans in front and very rear were replaced. The trunk floor was replaced before I bought the car but it looks good. The underbody was epoxy primered and painted a single stage black with flattening agent. I spent as much time on the underbody and chassis as I did the rest of the car.
This car is clean and very detailed out.
The body color is Mulsane blue (original color) with white stripes. I left the hood pins off for now because I'm still not sure I want to put them on, but will give them with the car if you want them.
