Mercury Lead Sled. Here is a real nice piece of the leadsled history..this merc was chopped and all the custom work was done by the great Gene Winfield,Gene is up there with all the other great custom car builders like George Barris,Ed Roth and the late Dick Dean,Gene was name 2008 motorama builder of the year,when Gene built this merc and chopped it he re-inforced it with steel,he then put the custom front end on the merc,with frenched headlights,molded hood,and a 1953 desoto grill,the trunk was decked,all this work was done over 16 years ago and it still looks good,the merc has a couple of road chips on it but can hardly see them,after all the custom work was done gene put one of his signature blended paint jobs on the merc and then added the cool scallops,the merc has the stock running gear with the flathead and the automatic tranny,this merc has been is dry storged for the last 12 years before I got,I was told that the merc was in the movies,Blood-in and Blood-out and Sleeper,with alittle work this merc could be a show car again,merc needs to be re-wired because of the old wires but does still run good, thank you.
