Camaro Z-28 . I am offering for sale my 1970 Camaro Z28. I believe that it is a truly remarkable car for several reasons. It was built on Feb 16 at the Van Nuys plant and was delivered to Don Steves Chevrolet on Whittier Blvd. in La Habra California on March 12 1970. This makes it a very early production Z28. The first Camaros arrived on showroom floors on Feb 26 1970.
I have the original owners manual, protect-o-plate, as well as a factory build sheet for the car. This documentation is priceless in a market which is flooded with clones, tributes, and deliberate fakes.
It is factory equipped with the options that most of us car nuts would have checked off if we had the opportunity to order a new Z28 Camaro. Muncie M21 four speed, 4.10 gears, full tint, deluxe interior, gauge package and shadow gray paint are all original equipment on this Camaro and are confirmed by the build sheet.
The powertrain is original and correct from front to back. The engine, transmission, rear end, and even the alternator are all matching number, correct pieces. The car is missing the original Holley, the distributor, clutch fan, exhaust manifolds, as well as the original sway bars. Needless to say the smog pump is long gone.
These second generation Camaros were very prone to rust. This one has no rust issues to speak of. The floors, trunk, doors, and quarters are in perfect condition. I have not seen a car from the musclecar era with a cleaner body in terms of rust. The paint is about twenty years old. It is good quality paint and still shines. However it does have some chips and wear in the paint. The patina is very nice and the car can be enjoyed as is. It draws lots of attention at our weekly cruise night.
