Camaro RS/SS . Beautifully restored. This is a great example of what is available to people who want one of the best muscle car around. This car is a real head turner and a guy can have some fun with 396 cubic inches of all-iron big-block making 425 horsepower and 4-Speed Transmission makes it a lot of fun to drive around town..
The car is in mint condition! Rust Free from Southern California. "NO RUST" The body on this car is the finest original I think you will find anywhere. The floors are mint including the trunk. No Rust! Original quarters in excellent shape. Original doors, fender, hood. Body panels fit incredibly nice! Trunk shuts nice along with the doors. Fenders fit extremely nice and the factory SS Super Sport hood shuts perfect. The body work on this car only took 8 hours to complete. How bad could it be? The car was blocked several times to insure straight panels. The car is painted Dark metallic Blue with White Bumble Bee strip around header and fenders in correct location for SS. DuPont Base coat clear coat was applied. The inner fender wells are painted body color including the firewall to match the exterior of the car. Much nicer than factory black The body was completely stripped to bare metal. The underbody has a light coat of under coat to show off the quality of the body. The interior floor pan received a light coat of under coat to insure that this beauty is preserved for years to come prior to carpet installation.. Commercial grade epoxy primer was applied to all body panels to insure the very best paint could be applied.
CAR is equipped with the Rare as Rare can be YENKO off road grill. The grill is metal! NOT PLASTIC! This was made for the racing style off road cars so that debris from the track would not go threw the radiator and help insure a great finish at the track Watkins Glen and others.
All original RS side moldings which have been polished to near perfect! No junk imports parts here!
The car has Factory style deluxe interior with rare option fold down rear seat. New seat padding. The bucket seat frame and rear seat. Frames where stripped and powder coated. This car has all the details of a fine restoration including new carpet and fire wall pad. The Seat backs are Factory steel. "NOT REPLACEMENT PLASTIC" The dash has a factory style tach and gauges which all work. Console and gauges are "real" not replacements. The heater core and Factory Big Block heater box have been completely restored. The cables for the heater work fine. Factory style material was used in the replacement of the headliner. Original Deluxe style side trim is also beautiful with deluxe interior lighting on sail panels and under dash.
The front suspension has completely been restored and rebuilt with quality parts and workmanship. Sub Frame and components where bead blasted and Powder Coated simi-gloss black. All nuts and bolts where cleaned and detailed. The front disc brakes are Four Piston Factory type piston. Rear disc brake conversion was added for stopping and safety. All new lines where installed including emergency cable which operate nicely. Factory rebuilt master cylinder and booster where installed including disc brake prop valve. The car has the correct replacement portioning valve for Disc front Disc rear. The car stops extremely well. The differential is GM 12 Bolt which is so correct for the car it includes the hard to find part such as the square large anti hope bar. Very Rare and hard to find! Only found on big block cars!
The 396 Cubic Inch engine is not correct. The engine has about 1K since rebuild. The engine was bored to 30 over. Reground crankshaft (standard) with wild camshaft. Line bored and all new bearings installed. Engine is equipped with custom valve covers and air gap intake. All new or rebuilt parts where installed on the engine before engine installation. New gas lines where installed and Dominator carburetor which runs incredible! . 3 inch Hooker headers. The car has a custom 3 inch exhaust which flows under rocker panels as those on factory side pipe cars. Car sounds very Mean! nice idle and smooth at higher speeds with low tones so one can enjoy the open road with out arriving with headache and earache. The Factory 4-speed transmission is completely rebuilt. The shifter is another "RARE" part to find! The shifter is different from those on low horse cars. This shifter mounts directly to the transmission cross member. The shifter handle has not been chrome plated to insure that the true beauty of this rare part was not destroyed at chrome shop. I am sure you know what I mean. Chrome shops Yuk! The factory console and gauges including the shift plate are restored and beautiful. Factory AM Radio is not working. .
The car is equipped with Factory Rally Sport (RS) appearance package hidden headlights, reverse lights, taillights, back up lights, turn signal lights of which are Factory originals. The head light motors where upgraded to more modern style including the relays to insure proper function. The engine compartment head light and engine harness are new. The high-performance Super Sport (SS) package has its own distinct decoration including the original 396 badges on right and left fenders which again are not replacements, Factory Originals.
All the chrome has been finished to near perfect condition on all the original parts including front and rear factory bumpers.
