Mercury Custom . Here we have a nice 1949 Mercury Custom. This, I would say, is the most desired year for the Merc custom, made famous by Sam Barris and James Dean. There are very few customs that I would consider to be excellent investment cars, but a 49 Chopped Merc is at the top of everyone's list.
This car has the following custom features:
Chopped top, shaved door handles, nosed and decked, rounded hood, frenched headlights, Slanted B pillars, frenched lake pipes, 54 Desoto Grill, Bubble Skirts, lake pipes, power antennas, custom interior, Tilt Tele GM column, Lancer hub caps, custom frenched taillights, upper belt moldings, custom paint with ghost flames, and all new chrome. This car has a corvette V8 Engine with a turbo hydromatic tranny installed, power brakes, and an 8 inch ford rear end. Wide white wall tires were added for the right look.
