Chevy Nomad Sport Wagon. Body on restoration occurred sometime around 2001-02. This car is very nice and is close to being a perfect daily driver with some additional improvements. This car has numerous quality reproduction and re-chromed original parts used in the cosmetic restoration. We have since taken the car and replaced, upgraded, and improved the mechanicals for dependability, durability, and safety. The car now has pwr. disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, a 2” drop in ride height, 17” wheels/tires, sway bars f & r, a dual exhaust system, alternator upgrade, and raingear windshield wipers. The original 265 has been replaced with a rebuilt 327 and a TH350 transmission. The performance is crisp with the addition of a new Edelbrock intake manifold and 600cfm. carburetor. It still has exhaust manifolds in order to facilitate the alternator upgrade and to ease maintenance. The factory gauges need repair or replacement, so aftermarket gauges have been installed to monitor the engine. The interior has been restored with a complete reproduction kit that is proper for this year, and looks good with the exterior colors. Mechanically the car is almost perfect. It runs well, sounds very good, and has been built with an interest in daily driver safety and durability. The next step would be to properly finish the body. The paint is nice, but not perfect, the body is straight, but it needs smoothing. All of the moldings are in place, but there are some small dings, including the L/rear quarter molding, but a nice replacement is included.
