Only 35 of the original Yenko Chevelle Super Cars are currently accounted for in the Yenko Registry. This is one of them. What a thrill to see this super rare 1969 Yenko Chevelle listed by a private seller from South Lyon, Michigan. (Click here to view the ad just posted on Cars On Line.com.) This is one of 99 Yenko Chevelles built by Yenko Chevrolet, and one of the few known to exist.
But the seller says the story gets even better. His 1969 Yenko Chevelle Super Car is one of 28 automatics built, and one of two special ordered Monaco Orange cars with automatic Hurst Dual Gate shifter. Wow! It is way up there on the Yenko Chevelle food chain. Yenko Chevrolet in Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania only produced the Yenko Chevelle one year, in 1969. This one was sold new by Minneman Chevrolet of Youngstown, Ohio. It’s an original double COPO 9562 and 9573 car. The seller says it still has only 26,000 original miles. That's amazing.
They say it comes with an original build sheet (see photo in the Slide Show ad.) Ricky Smith Restorations in Virginia completed a total drivetrain restoration in 2013 with "acute attention to correct GM factory assembly line detail." Note that it has an L72 427/450 hp fully correct MP 512 replacement block, correct 840 cylinder heads, correct 163 intake manifold, correct 4346 carburetor, correct KQ code 4:10 differential, correct CX code Turbo Hydromatic transmission, and much more. The seller says the entire interior is original except for front seat covers and carpet.
For a more detailed description of the car click through to our blog page story on the 1969 Yenko Chevelle Super Car. The history of the Yenko Chevelle muscle car and how it came about is also recorded there. Then tell us about your Yenko Chevelle memories in the comment section.

Thanksgiving is the one day for which people travel hundreds of miles to spend time with family they only see once a year. And then they find out that once is way too often. It is the one day of the year when gluttony becomes your patriotic duty. After all, there is no more sincere love than the love of food.
You can tell when you've eaten too much for Thanksgiving dinner when you stand up and feel the need to hang your stomach over the back of the chair.
It's not too much to eat. You've been training for this day all your life. It will be your finest hour -- it will be your Thanksgiving destiny.
Not what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true measure of our thanksgiving. -- W. T. Purkiser.
You are receiving your Thanksgiving edition of the Cars On Line newsletter a day early. Enjoy. The Cars On Line staff hopes you have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Why are new car sales in the past few months of 2016 declining? New research out by R.L. Polk & Co. shows the average age of U.S. autos is 11.6 years, a record for our country's fleet. Some say new car prices are so high that buyers have to stretch out their auto loans over a longer period. Others indicate that today's cars are made so well that 100,000 miles is the new "break-in" period. They now say 100,000 miles on a car is the half life.
In July 2013, IHS Automotive acquired R. L. Polk & Co., including Polk and CARFAX. IHS Automotive provides automotive companies the ability to capitalize on cross-industry analysis, expertise, and a global network for trusted market research.
These days, auto dealers are making more money in their service department than in their sales departments. The winners in this scenario are the parts companies such as Auto Zone and O' Reilly Auto Parts who supply the do-it-yourselfers with the parts to fix their own aging vehicles.
This week, the American Center for Mobility broke ground on a self-driving test site at the former GM Willow Run plant. The RACER Trust, which now oversees the site, sold the 311-acre tract of land near Ypslilanti. GM's Willow Run plant has been shut down since 2010.
The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor currently runs a 32-acre site for testing automated vehicles. There is a program started there to put 5,000 self-driving vehicles on the roads of Ann Arbor as a real time test as well. Michigan is attempting to compete with Silicon Valley to take back this part of its automotive future.

Remember to watch for our coverage of the 2016 Daytona Turkey Run this weekend. Our Cars On Line Car Show team is here in Daytona, Florida to record photos and videos of the largest car show and swap meet in the U.S. The Turkey Run will be held at the Daytona Internatinal Speedway, November 24-27, 2016. We always find some great stories and people here on Thanksgiving Weekend. Some of the old Daytona area race cars will be displayed in the NASCAR pits.
This year, they expect more than 6,000 cars to be on display in the show and for sale. There are always some great deals to find here. And the Swap Meet area is gigantic. Indeed, it takes up most of the infield and pit area of the Daytona Speedway.
As always, Cars On Line will be on hand to cover the exclusive action. Follow the photos and videos from our car show team on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. You will find hundreds of photos and videos in our 2016 Daytona Turkey Run coverage on our ClassiCarNews.com blog page.

American Motor Company struggled through the Muscle Car Era to produce relevant cars as retold in the ad that Crown Concepts just listed. Cars like this 1969 AMC AMX helped break their reputation from the Rambler Econobox. This one was one of 619 made and had the original 290 replaced with a 390 as noted in the ad. It's priced at just $19,997 and will be among next week's DEAL of the DAY Feature cars.
Bright Yellow is a fitting color for this highly visible and curiousity striking 1970 VW Baja Beetle Truck from Streetside Classics. Everyone will want to have a look. It's a cool, custom build with a 1600cc Dual Port engine and it was just recently finished according to the ad. The interior is simple but well done. Click through to see the photographs. It's priced reasonably at $14,995 and will be among our newest DEAL of the DAY feature cars.
There's a 351 high performance engine in this M-code 1970 Ford Torino GT Convertible from a private seller in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. The seller says they're the third owner and that the Torino has less than 86,000 actual miles on it. It's a "nice, solid car," that will be one of next week's DEAL of the DAY feature cars, priced at only $17,000.
Turn heads wherever you go when you get behind the wheel of this 1939 Chevrolet Coupe from Summit Point, West Virginia. The seller tells us a majority of the components on the restored coupe are new. Under the hood you'll find a Chevrolet 350 engine that is said to have approximately 2,000 miles on it. The vehicle has been garage kept. It will be our DEAL of the DAY next week as the price is only $28,999.
Don't miss your chance to add this 1968 Chrysler Newport Convertible to your collection.
